Keys, Parking, Garden and Neighbours
Please ensure that the key used when you first arrived at the house has been returned to the keysafe. If you lose a key when out, you will still be able to get back in. If a key is lost, please contact Hilary straight away on 07812 162548.
We like to close the gates at the entrance to Old Red Lion Yard at night time at weekends. Very rarely, inquisitive visitors come down the yard late at night and to ensure a good night’s sleep we simply close both gates after 10.00pm.
Please only park in the bays marked for Old Red Lion House at the end of the yard. We realise it can be quite tight for 3 cars but please respect the spaces allocated to our neighbours as we only have 3 designated parking spaces linked to our house.
The parking opposite our house does not belong to us and is in regular use by Service Appliances, neighbouring houses and an accountants practice so please don’t park in these areas.
Halfway down Red Lion Yard before our parking area, there is a path to the right, please don’t turn around in there as this is private property and our neighbour won’t be too pleased.
Our garden is located at the end of the yard behind the Old Red Lion Parking signs through the gap in the hedge. We have table and chairs and from the garden you can hear the river Stour. It’s a peaceful place to be so please feel free to enjoy the garden. We find the white tray in the house which contained your welcome pack is a great way to carry down drinks to enjoy in the garden!
There are over a thousand of our books in the house and we do cherish our book collection. Please feel free to borrow one of them during your stay but please don’t take them away from the house.
Finally, we have recently had new carpets fitted on the first and second floor so we are asking all guests to not wear shoes on these floors please to preserve the carpets.
