Medical Emergency

Notwithstanding the obvious (dial 999), there is a hospital in Blandford Forum which has a minor injuries unit.  The hospital is located on Milldown Road; from Old Red Lion house turn out of the yard into Market Place.  Take the first right where the road splits with the opticians on the right. Then turn left at next first split in the road so you join Whitecliff Mill Street. This road splits again but stay left (signposted Hospital and Leisure Centre) and the hospital is on the right hand side.

Fire

There is a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket located in the cupboard under the kitchen sink.  These are designed for small fires only and have instructions written on them as to their use. If in doubt, or the fire is established, please ensure that all guests exit the house to a safe place and dial 999.

Gas Leak

If you smell gas turn off the supply at the mains.  The stopcock is located in the cupboard next to the house at low level on the right hand side. Dial 0800 111 9999 and report the issue immediately to the Gas Emergency Services.  Please then call Hilary on 07812 162548 or Tim on 07875 516407,  If no response, please call Chris on 01702 557148.

If you smell gas turn off the supply at the mains.  The stopcock is located in the cupboard next to the house – see image below for the location of the cupboard. Once inside, look at low level on the right-hand side for the stopcock.

This Cupboard belongs to our neighbours so please knock on their door to get access; their cottage is immediately to the left of Old Red Lion House. If they are not available, call Hilary on 07812 162548 and use the key that is hidden in the ‘secret’ door next to the dining room fire place – see image below. It has an old flood marker attached to it. Slide this door up and the key is hanging on the wall at high level in this cupboard.  Please replace it after use.

In addition, dial 0800 111 9999 and report the issue immediately to the Gas Emergency Services.  Please then call Hilary on 07812 162548 or Tim on 07875 516407.  If no response, please call Chris on 01702 557148.

The electrical distribution board (from which the electricity can be switched off) is located in the cupboard next to the house on the rear wall at high level (see the information above under ‘gas leak’ for information about accessing the cupboard.
