Kingston Lacy – National Trust

Kingston Lacy is a country house and estate located 15 minutes drive from Old Red Lion House and is near Wimborne.  It was built between 1663 and 1665 to resemble an Italian palace.

There’s plenty to see, from beautifully detailed carvings to intimate family souvenirs and even strange curiosities.  There are rooms teeming with paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Titian and Brueghel. In the Egyptian Room you can discover the largest private collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts in the UK.

Outside there is plenty of space to relax or let the children run wild.  Or have a wander round the Japanese Garden and the surrounding woodland.

There’s loads to see and do on the 8,500 acres of estate.
